Théâtre de la Mode was a travelling exhibition of miniature French fashion dolls, and their couture outfits, that took place in 1945-46, after World War II. It was initiated by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, in order to showcase the revival of Parisian Haute Couture after the war. The dolls, each measuring approximately 27 inches tall, were dressed in miniature versions of the latest fashions, created by leading Parisian couture houses such as Christian Dior, Lanvin, and Balenciaga. One notable designer who was inspired by this collection was the doll-maker, Robert Tonner. This video shows some of the original ensembles, and the modern interpretations from Tonner, worn by his muse, Tyler Wentworth. (28 Minutes)

12 PM - 4 PM Join us for a Meet and Greet Gathering with Robert Tonner in Denver, Colorado!

We are excited to announce that Turn of the Century Antiques is hosting a Meet and Greet Gathering with renowned doll artist Robert Tonner on June 30th! Attendees will have an opportunity to meet Robert Tonner in person and enjoy a wonderful afternoon surrounded by beautiful antique to modern dolls. There will be multiple activities and shopping opportunities.

To ensure everyone's safety, attendees will be grouped and staggered. This will help us control the number of people at the doll shop at any time, and make your experience more enjoyable. We will reach out a week before the event with information on the groups.

We are planning a chocolate fountain with all the trimmings at the doll shop to ensure you have enough energy. Additionally, we have a fabulous charcuterie board fit for royalty!

There is a lot of fun shopping on our street, dubbed “Denver’s Antique Row.” Registered attendees will receive a specific time slot two weeks before the event. WE HAVE PARKING! LEARN MORE IN THIS BLOG FOR ATTENDEES.

We will bring Ellowyne's latest journal entries to life at the event through a special antique shop experience. You will be immersed in a world of vintage treasures, just like Ellowyne herself. As you browse the shop, keep an eye out for hidden clues from the story!

But that's not all! Guests will also be treated to delectable desserts (we have an ice cream truck!) and “TonnerTinis,” - a signature drink created just for Tonner Doll collectors. It's the perfect way to unwind and chat with fellow Ellowyne fans about your favorite journal entries. You won't want to miss out on this unique chance to step into Ellowyne's world and experience it like never before. (Be sure to Uber, parking is limited, BUT if you have a rental car, you should still be fine to park on-site or close on the street.)
