Reflecting on How Lucky We Are

Dear Friends,

The doll shop has been a whirlwind of activity lately—cleaning, restocking, curating treasures, and creating new videos to celebrate the joy of doll collecting. Every day, I am reminded how lucky I am to be part of this community, surrounded by people who find beauty in the smallest details, who tell stories through their collections, and who keep the magic of dolls alive.

Just yesterday, I shared with Robert Tonner that I always knew it was possible to love a job, but I never imagined it could be this much fun. What a gift it is—to share in the love of dolls, to laugh, to dream, and to create something meaningful together. I cherish that more than words can say.

As I step back from the busyness of it all, I find myself reflecting on what truly matters. You. This community. The friendships we’ve built, the memories we’ve shared, and the way dolls have brought us together. Virtual Doll Convention is more than a place to shop or watch a video—it’s a home. A warm hug. A reminder that you belong here.

Holland Diane just turned three, and I can’t resist sharing this sweet photo from school. Her joy is contagious, and it reminds me of the simple happiness dolls bring into our lives. I see that same joy in each of you. Whether you’re restoring a treasured heirloom, styling the perfect outfit, or simply finding comfort in a doll’s presence, what you do is meaningful. Your passion, your creativity, and your love for this hobby inspire me every single day.

We’ve also been working behind the scenes on something special—we’ve revamped the VDC website! It has a fresh new look, and we’re so proud of how it’s coming together. We’ll continue expanding it, adding more resources, content, and surprises along the way. If you have a moment, we’d love for you to take a peek and let us know what you think!

And as always, if you ever need a friend to chat with, my inbox is always open. Whether it’s about dolls or just life, you are always welcome here.

In love and dolls,
Rachel
