From Semi to Showcase: The Dolls Are Here!
From Semi to Showcase: The Dolls Are Here!
This morning, as I was sipping my coffee and discussing some fun display ideas with Christopher and Paul, a curious interruption shifted our day from ordinary to extraordinary. Outside, a massive semi truck rumbled to a stop right in front of the shop. I peered out the window, more amused than surprised, as the driver hopped down and called over to us, "Hey, are you guys expecting some dolls?"
In our world, the arrival of new dolls is always a special occasion, but we never know exactly when they'll show up—which only adds to the excitement. "Dolls arriving is always a good time," I chuckled as I headed out to meet the driver.
As he opened the back of the truck, boxes labeled "Fragile: Handle with Care" were revealed, stacked neatly to the roof. These weren't just any dolls; they were from Robert Tonner, including glamorous '60s grandmothers named Gwendolyn and Zee from the Ellowyne and Neema lines, and, thrillingly, our very first shipment of inset eye Ellowyne ans Neema dolls. I could hardly contain my excitement—each box felt like a treasure chest about to be opened.
We all rolled up our sleeves and got to work, unloading each box with care. The anticipation built with each crate we moved. It's moments like these that remind me why I love what I do so much—it's not just about dolls; it's about the stories they carry and the joy they bring.
This week, the shop will turn into a little studio as we plan to film the unboxing of these extraordinary dolls. I can’t wait to share these moments with everyone—it’s going to be like unwrapping history piece by piece. So, stay tuned for the videos and the announcement of the sale; I promise it will be worth the watch! Here is a link to our YouTube channel, we would love for you to subscribe and join us for EVERYTHING!
Make sure to bookmark our VDC schedule, as we post all our activities and announcements there first. It's like keeping a diary of all the magical moments here at the shop. Grab a coffee and join me; this story is just beginning, and I’d love for you to be part of it!
