Designs by Jude Insider: Patterns, Creativity, and TonnerFest Excitement!
Welcome to the Designs by Jude Insider!
We are so excited to shine a spotlight on the incredibly talented Tamara Casey, the creative force behind Designs by Jude. Tamara brings her passion for doll fashion to life by designing two new sewing patterns each month exclusively for the Virtual Doll Convention (VDC) community. Her patterns inspire collectors to create stunning, one-of-a-kind outfits for their favorite dolls, and we're honored to collaborate with her.
In September, Tamara designed a delightful pattern called "Field Trip" for our very own Anne Fitzpatrick doll. This charming ensemble includes a pleated jumper and long-sleeved shirt, perfect for Anne’s playful and adventurous personality. The attention to detail in the pleated jumper and collar design really makes this outfit stand out—giving Anne a classic look with a modern twist.
Here are 5 creative ways to personalize your Field Trip outfit or to set up a fun photo shoot for Anne:
Add Custom Embroidery – Stitch Anne’s initials or a fun motif like a tiny book or school supplies on the pocket of her jumper to give the outfit a personal touch.
Mix and Match Fabrics – Try pairing a floral cotton for the shirt with a plaid or checkered fabric for the jumper. It’s a great way to make the outfit feel unique and personal.
Back-to-School Photo Shoot – Create a mini school scene with Anne! Use small props like tiny books, a chalkboard, or even a little backpack to capture that perfect back-to-school vibe.
Accessorize – Add a cute headband, a pair of glasses, or a mini satchel to Anne’s outfit. Little details go a long way in making your doll’s look stand out.
Seasonal Flair – Since it's fall, swap out her jumper for a wool or flannel fabric to give it a cozy, seasonal feel. You could even add a mini pumpkin or autumn leaves to the background of your photo shoot.
For the Ellowyne Wilde Subscription, Tamara Casey designed a stunning pattern for September called "Entrenched Style." This fabulous trench coat is perfect for adding a classic and sophisticated touch to Ellowyne's wardrobe. The coat features tailored details like faux pockets, a stylish belt, and elegant sleeve straps, bringing a timeless elegance to Ellowyne’s collection. It’s the perfect piece for transitioning through seasons or for adding a chic, polished look to her outfits.
Here are 5 creative ways to personalize the Entrenched trench coat pattern or set up a stylish photo shoot with Ellowyne:
Add a Pop of Color – While trench coats are traditionally neutral, you could try using a bold color like navy blue, olive green, or even a bright red to make Ellowyne’s look pop.
Unique Buttons & Belts – Personalize the coat with decorative buttons like gold or brass, or add a unique belt buckle for an extra layer of luxury.
City Chic Photo Shoot – Set up a city-inspired scene with mini umbrellas, cobblestone paths, and street signs to create the perfect backdrop. Imagine Ellowyne strolling through a fashionable neighborhood on a rainy day!
Vintage Vibes – If you're going for a more vintage look, try a soft tweed or distressed fabric for the trench coat, giving it a well-loved, timeless feel.
Mix-and-Match Fabrics – Use a heavier wool fabric for the outer coat and a playful patterned lining that will peek through when the coat is open, adding a surprise element to the design.
Tamara’s Entrenched pattern is a true staple for Ellowyne’s wardrobe, offering endless possibilities for customization and creative styling. Whether you opt for a classic trench or a modern take, this piece is sure to elevate Ellowyne's fashion game.
